Steel is non-combustible and does not contribute to the spread of fire, which makes it a popular material in warehouse construction. However, at high temperatures (around 500°C or 932°F), steel begins to lose its structural integrity, becoming weaker and more susceptible to failure. During a fire, if steel beams or columns reach these temperatures, the entire structure can collapse, posing a significant safety risk and potentially leading to catastrophic losses.
