Shares are transferred to IEPF for several key reasons: if dividends remain unclaimed for seven years, if there is no activity in the account for a long period, or if shares are left unclaimed for seven years. Additionally, unclaimed application money, unredeemed preference shares, and rights or bonus shares linked to unclaimed shares can also be transferred to IEPF.
